Bronze is the best medal.
Silver is the losers' medal. The runners-up hoped to win but were beaten. The bronze medallists had realistic expectations of a top ten finish but happily, everything came right in the final and they made the podium! They have an Olympic medal. A story to tell the grandchildren, their picture in the local paper, an invitation to show it to their old primary school class. OK that is a generalisation but often enough true. Watch the medal ceremonies and see who looks happiest. |

the olympics are a grotesque travesty of what they once were, and should be
golf? its not even a sport. football tennis and rugby dont belong either. if its not the pinnacle of your sport it shouldnt be there. simples and dancing? and all the silly equestrian nonsense. most of it is garbage. why not hopscotch? or synchronised vacuuming or shoplifting? wed be on the podium for that, next to romania and albania even when it was on me doorstep in 2012 i didnt watch any of it, and i had freebies for the beach volleyball |

I am surprised they had anything about any religion, but they decided it was Ok to have a load of trannies taking the mick out of God and the Christians. Maybe it shows we are more tolerant and don't need to run around killing each other over some crude satire. Though surely as its the Olympics its meant to be about sport, not a load of old trannies trying to turn it into something else. |
