Robbed of a 4th Champion Hurdle by that idiot Neil Ferguson! The Covid clown, foot and mouth clown, and general lunatic. Not ONE of his " modelling" predictions ever came true. Istabraq, you were right up there with the best. JD will be waiting to greet you old boy.

Beat Theatreworld. Theatreworld never won a Grade 1. State Man has won 10 and Constitution Hill gave it a lesson. Different generations but Istabraq was a class act against mediocre opposition

Bitter sweet memories of such a great horse witnessing it win a Handicap at Ayr on the flat then on to hurdling where to viewing it on a sunday afternoon, one of the first if not the very first of a horses being suspended for being non trier against it at leopardstown ( bet finegans hollow ew ) I think jp was fined 1500 euros as he owned the second,

@icyestretro It's long forgotten that Martin Pipe was the underbidder for Istabraq. Reflecting on it years later, Pipe remarked that if he had secured Istabraq, the horse wouldn't have gone near a Champion Hurdle but would have landed regular touches at tracks like Plumpton and Fakenham. I think we'd better get the BBC's 'fact-checkers' onto this one ^ Also not-so-long-forgotten that Istabraq was bred to win a Derby, being a half-bruv to Secreto |
