78 years of age.
Glittering career as a renowned trainer, much of it at the top table. always has to end at some point. |

Not in this way…

By:
agree , had to end at some point, God help us when John Gosden actually goes , Coolmore will then have an open goal

Incrdeible trainer over the years but not sure why he's hanging on, he's said he doesn't get that kick any more.
|
|
By:
Possibly keeping going out of loyalty to his staff.
|
|
By:
he lost his long term partner some years back as I recall. He may simply be carrying ion to keep himself busy. One would hope he has a last hurrah but, Passenger aside, it is difficult to see him having much chance in G1 - 3 races this season .

i do remember a few years back, he sent a fav ( cant recall the name ) to the irish derby , and was bullied out of the race by a barrage of ccoolmore bullies, and vowed never to run a horse there again .

From Barbados, coming over here, stealing a career and livelihood from a British trainer. Must make you right sick. |

I think that Desert Crown was the breaking of his heart...I always felt he was going to be his"Frankel"...a King George day without a Stoute horse would have been unthinkable ..I may be wrong but his only entry I see for Saturday is Passenger at York..

Deary me what a mess... From Barbados, coming over here, stealing a career and livelihood from a British trainer. Must make you right sick. Don’t be silly you won’t see a bigger supporter of the great trainer than myself…..since the Fair Salinia days… The great man Jonjo who graced the forum would justify…. |

Desert Crown could have been a great. He has Passenger who looks a top notch G1 10f horse on fast ground. That's probably enough to keep the flame burning. Just hope he doesn't succumb to injury as tragically happened to DC.
