I was very unhappy with a horse I backed the other day at Newton Abbott it was in the first race Golden Path it's race before it had won well this time it was beaten no less than 29L.Led, headed home turn, pushed along and dropped away tamely. The run was just so bad it made me think it was doped. This was just one of the horses that seem to run very badly take the original fav in the 2.45 at Cartmel today goes for a walk in the market original second fav is so well backed ends up being returned fav it wins hard held with the original fav beaten out of sight finish last in 6th.
The bookmakers are the ones who have adapted they see someone who looks like they might know a thing or too and they send them an email telling you to P*** off I have a stack of them.
I am finding it harder and harder to find bets.

I didn't see that race seaside but I think you're on to something. I've seen so many examples over the past two years it's quite plausible horses are being stopped. Testing is only as good as the latest technology. Dopers are usually ahead of the game - ask Lance Armstrong. Jim Bolger had a lot to say on doping then went very quiet. Wonder why.

Not saying it doesn't happen, seaside, but aren't drifters especially favourites routinely drug tested after a race if they underperform? That's just what I've seen in some post race stewards notes, don't actually know what the criteria is for ordering the test

Look at Joe Biden drifted like a barge on here in last few weeks, from about 6/4 out to 20+ before being pulled out. There won't be any enquiry about that, basically insider trading.
It's called gambling for a reason.

I've had a trusted syndicate for just under 17 years seaside , get the geography right and you've a great access to get on what you need , the game is too far gone to be able to do it all by yourself so just lazily logging on and expecting the world to accommodate you is way past its sell by date , need to be smarter than that.
Impressed that you've found the need for bookmakers as well as the exchange though mate , proves you're more than a one-dimensional punter that's not blinkered by the exchange win market.
Strongly recommended if you can get suitable people , the alternative is to go on a gambling forum and continuously moan.

A small conundrum for the 2 Bob punters like seaside.
Explain how and why a 4/5 shot won the 1430 hrs race at Ayr when drifting out to 5/1 and winning comfortably?
How many others were doped to allow this and all including the winner avoid a dope test?
Did they?

Golden Path still managed to beat Spanish Poet 3 lengths further than it had the time before, despite being 7 lb worse off.
As Dr Crippen says, it just turned out to be terrible form.

CrowdStrike Holdings stock crumbled on Friday, but two insiders dodged the bullet, selling millions of dollars of shares days before.
When a stock whipsaws, as in Crowdstrike’s Friday tumble, it can appear as if insiders were selling before an anticipated drop, but the planned transactions were set up more than a year ago.

Possibly the race it won LTO was poor, the time certainly was.
Combined with being a filly = possibly inconsistent.
Combined with the rest of the field each having had just one run over hurdles means they could improve bundles for the experience,
Combined with your selection carrying a penalty for winning a sub standard race lto.
All adds up to being a dicey wager imo.
You are certainly a braver man than I to get involved when there are so many negatives.

point is though youve just added the cherry on the cake to your evidence with a shocking run at odds on,but would you now trust uk racing as been straight and lay it for your life in a similar race on the back of one run backing up your evidence from its previous run, when their own money is down i,d suggest most people would forgive it one bad run, % wise how many winners are their with a single victory,no placed form and a row of duck eggs ?

Something that I notice chatting with other punters is they don't seem to take much notice of class or prize money. That last race Golden Path ran in was a class 4 novice worth £4,800 to the winner. The form of its first win was at a similar level, but on what we have to go on it looks poor. Novices often win one race then show nothing for a spell. but that 5.5 length easy win doesn't disappear. Given the right weight at its correct level, it will almost certainly go in again. Probably in a h/cap.

IT LOOKS POOR to poor to be true ? wouldnt be laying beaten odds on shots on their next run believing the previous defeat was their true ability, wasnt many laying it for their lives pre race on the back of its previous run, despite everyone now saying it was a rubbish race it won, went out like a light in a 100 yds

The best horse anchor is a natural legal product and in conjunction with a Jockey who follows orders, is a lethal combination in ensuring the correct result. Horse racing is similar to club golfers in that there are triers, bluffers and cheats.

horses are not machines, they only need to be 'prepared' to be a couple of % under par and the jockey can be seen to be trying as much as he likes, just put the horse in the right race (a handicap usually).

alleged drugs a load of ROLLOCKS i,d rather push water up a hill than try and inject straw through the syringes people have been caught using and band for inside a racecourse

Formoftheace - you can tell your Irish mate who used to train that he is talking rubbish.
100% fact. A good mate of mine who went on to train led up Ozzie on a horse in a Nov chase at somewhere like Fontwell from memory, that was doped by syringe . I remember him saying it was like riding a drunk horse over a fence and very frightening. My mate who had the misfortune to lead it up was then jokingly nickmaned "the needle man "
The horse was tested and found to have been "got at" as were 3 or 4 others in a short space of time.
