Looked through the Thursday card a couple of times, and there are loads of horses entered who on all known evidence don't want soft ground.

Bookmakers will be in clover (yet again) if they get Ancient Wisdom and Hamish beat. Hamish is knocking on a bit, and there's going to be point when he doesn't turn up.

Why would the bookmakers be in clover ?? If the ground is Soft its there for all to see not just bookmakers, if you think you have found horses that dont act on the going you are half way there.

I wouldnt lay Hamish ( who thrives on the ground ) myself but thats just my opinion.

If these two stand out as wanting the ground, are backed, and get beat then it pretty obvious that it is going to be beneficial to bookmakers.

As regards backing something that only works if you have actually found some that do want the ground. Beyond the two above, good luck if you find any. I also didn't say Hamish would lose, just that there will be a point at his age when his form tails off.

I like Ancient Wisdom who did not handle Epsom. The ground will suit too.
