It bowled along at Beverly and made two superior rivals work hard to get past.

You really have to wonder about the logic of then letting it pull like a train behind lesser beasts.

It was still reefing and pulling after 4 furlongs.

He’s just a horrible excuse for a jockey, often unbalancing his mounts as he flails away at it

Given the two market rivals were also unraced, experience alone would have allowed him to pinch a few lengths had he bowled along.

It was incompetent and unintelligent race riding to such a high degree it bordered on criminal.

Shirley the horse is just a bit of a dog? Three prior runs and a bets RPR of 64?

Equally poor speed ratings. She might prove me wrong at some point but odds-on (for what she has achieved in those three races) was surely madness today, even in a poor race.

There's a smidge of logic in there Management but the problem is...

1) What won the race? A horse clearly inferior in RPRs/TSs achieved so far. So how did it win it?; and

2) Are you really suggesting the fav wouldn't have done better if allowed to make all like the last day where a 78 rated rival was 2nd?

I'm not defending the ride j foxxx - but it was a terrible price all things considered. One of those races where you have no idea exactly what will beat it - but feel quite sure something will (at the prices).

Oh absolutely agree on your general premise. A poor selection given its level of achievement. You'd usually want another 10lbs on the pre-race RPR to feel comfortable.

The only issues though l are in this specific instance, how ropey was the winner so far and did the fav get a terrible ride.

Plus every reason to believe fav would step up from it's turf debut where it performed with merit against better animals so it wasvthe best of a bad bunch- but by some way and with reasons to expect better.
