Just rewatched it. His arms were pulled out for at least the first 2 furlongs which no doubt affected his chances. With over 30 years association with Timeform, am quite surprised he came out with that comment. Never been a fan myself, always thought he's got that I know it all look about him and backs that up when he talks.

Always love it when Jim says "I was working that day", like a man who'd just done a 12-hour shift down the pit on Christmas day, not being paid for pontificating about horses on a nice sunny day.

pro gamblers have to think they know everything. They are probably among the most disliked people on earth there are countless examples. To make money ( after bookie profits ) means you have to think nearly everyone else is clueless.
