He knew at the 2 pole he had it won. The difference in Moore the last couple of seasons since he's been riding most of the O'Brien horses near the pace has been startling. Perhaps Stoute should have been doing similar with his horses in recent seasons.

He was still smarting over getting stuffed on it last year when he should have won. Wasn't going to happen twice!

He rode with his thinking cap on. Also, he'd a bit of help from Cais Chorister who got a bit lit up with 6f to go; he got a timely tow. And, with Trawlerman going for home he bidded with time until a furlong out.

Good ride, good horse with a bit of quirk thrown in.

------

He had a couple of seasons where he was imitating JP Spencer in every race and it was a disaster, since he's back to riding them like they're the best horse in the race on the whole he hasn't looked back.

I don't know why he did that-if asked he'd probably say APOB had a couple of moderate years too but it was more than that.

He's peerless against the current crop when he rides them like he's doing now--in the vanguard.

'the lads' were much more cynical in the way they used pacemakers in the past. until they started to actually win the races Grin

He rode a lot for Stoute previously who hates his horses up in front. Think Moore kindve carried that forward to other trainers' horses as well. Big difference now, even on the first time outs.
