Ye Gods, is it really 50 years since she was there? And all over the next day's papers.

I also recall her popping into Lords to rev things up a bit at the Nursery End.

Sadly don't recall whether Julian Wilson or Peter West managed a quick chat with her.

Well someone had a chat with her. I remember her being interviewed at Ascot on the BBC. She had that outfit on, with the buttons undone (but didn't have her thumbs in the lapels unfortunately).

Thanks as always Ged, your memory is better than mine. Plus I rarely got home in time from Grammar School  to watch the last race of the day's BBC coverage, let alone any celebrity interviews.

She basically made out she was a slave and had to do what she was told.

Also in the same year, Chantilly had a most distinguished visitor to see her filly win the Prix Diane
