I agree he was too far behind and fast pace made things impossible. Dettori got lucky with the slow pace at Santa Anita. Shoemark could do with some luck.

Inspiral was slowly away (she's done this before), and the pacesetters were not hanging around either. And, together with the fast pace and stiff 10f Inspiral has no chance of winning after.

will look over sectionals later for inspiral ride but 2nd 3rd came from back 3 & the winner didn't attend early pace suggests she wasn't badly placed given the pace but whatever
