Senior Greek police spokesperson Constantina Dimoglidou confirmed searches for the star began early on Thursday morning, with no trace yet found.

He went missing after he set off hiking along St Nicholas Beach on Wednesday lunchtime."He was at the beach of Ag. Nikolas with another couple when he decided to go back to his home in the area of Pedi of Symi," the spokesperson said.

"It was around 1.30pm and he forgot his phone at the beach. Any and every attempt to track him down has not produced any result.”

There would need to be 28 hours in a day to do all the different things that he recommends doing daily for 15 or 20 minutes in order to extend your life by a few years.

That said, hope they find him safe and well. He’s probably just meditating somewhere.

How unexpected? A jolly medic on tv, and this happened. I hope he's found soon. Warmest regards to his family.

Dr Mosley and his wife landed on the 25-square-mile island on Tuesday and were due to stay for a week with a couple who have a house in Symi Town.

The two couples took a boat up the coast on Wednesday morning. They stopped at Saint Nicholas beach where the diet doctor, a father of four, went for a swim in the sea before deciding to walk the 2.2 miles back home at 1.30pm.

He had left his phone at their friends' home, and when Dr Bailey and the couple returned to the property, they found that Dr Mosley had not returned and his mobile was where he left it.

After the alarm was raised, a woman reported seeing Dr Mosley walking past a bus stop in Pedi, halfway between Saint Nicholas beach and Symi Town. There were also claims he was seen talking to someone.

From the Daily Mail.

No doubt this will grow arms and legs... Hope he turns up safe and well soon.

An interesting statistic: around 630 thousand are reported missing each year of which 90 thousand are NEVER found. With modern tech this is really an amazing figure. Let's hope the Doc is found safe & well although as time goes by this is increasingly unlikely.

Sky report says you would not know anything much has happened as life is going on as if nothing has happene....I find that surprising.....Sounds like the locals dont give a ****.

Why would the locals be particularly interested? A foreign tourist goes missing. Probably had an accident. Happens all over the world every day. Not of the eminence of the Doc, admittedly. However not eminent to the locals. The island is not Corsica or Sicily so kidnapping doesn't appear to be a probability. The island is not particularly known for crime.

He didn't take his phone & he didn't have any water. Obviously didn't intend to be absent for long. As a doctor he would know it's essential to carry water in those temperatures.Expect bad news.

Alleged CCTV footage on BBC showing the good doctor with his brolly walking at pace along the street. If he continued up those hills at that speed then good chance he was overdoing it a bit, in 40 degree heat.

Article online Mr Moseley says no one on his male line has lived past 72,and  all his dietary efforts are  attempts to thwort this outcome.
Also says for one of the programmes they done a full body scan and more, which showed a coronary issue.
Watching his father's  demise from  healthy to diabetes to dementia  and death over a few years  has been a millstone around his neck as a doctor  but tbh he doesn't take himself too seriously.
Apparently  he suffers from chronic insomnia.
Not a great condition imo, a holiday could be a difficult time.
