The market is treading cautiously given the renewed optimism from connections about an improvement from that cataclysmic performance seen in the 2000G; the majority of the public are less convinced and forgiving. He's 'evens' to be placed; 1.72 (4-places); 1.5 (5-places).
I'd go for the last latter to maximise return. Caveat emptor.
Think it's a win bet myself. Looks a pretty thin field for quality outside of COT, and 2000 was too bad to be true, so can't be judged on that alone I feel. Could easily blow out again, but he's not 6-4 either.

Very Thin. plus i have made plenty of money forgiving horses bad runs for one reason or another. Never be scared of a price. one last chance for me..... if it get beats so be it. if i dont back it and wins easy it would hurt more he he he

has aidan settled on a reason for the guineas flop? he blamed himself for flaws in preparation but has also cited getting upset in the stalls. it can't be both

doesn't really matter when they are selling a potential stallion, all comments come with a dose of salt. actions speak louder than words, he hasn't been found an injury and packed off to stud. they're going in again.

Excessive heart rate at the start of Guineas sounds like a lot of pony to me,when I saw the horse in the ring I thought aw ah signs don’t look promising

Far from certain, but he has not gone from leaving Haatem for dust to struggling to lay up with him from half way. That is not a 'training on' issue. Personally I feel like the price justifies the risk as the COT we saw in all his other races wins 80% of the time up against this oppo (assuming the distance is no issue). If he is shot as a racehorse, so be it.

He will be as fit as a fiddle today, no chances will have been taken, as they seem to have been for the Guineas.
That said, I cannot back it, but would not want to lay it either.
All adds to the interest.

Wont be backing it but surely Aiden O'Brien's judgement has to be taken on trust, the master trainer surely isnt bluffing, expect COT to run well but well enough to win?

I hope he can do a Slip Anchor ie set the pace; slip 6 lengths clear off Tattenham Corner and sail hope with the rest in vain pursuit. Non-backers eating humble pie. Here's hoping anyway.
My prediction: (1) City Of Troy (2) Ancient Wisdom (3) Ambiente Friendly
Good luck all!

Regbuttler, yes only for a £1 (fun bet). But, 14/1 (boosted 28/1) with 'b]'billie' for The Derby. However, an expensive flop in the 2000G; it knocked off 75 running bets at from 16/1 to 5/1.
Anyway, a good Green from this result.

after the guineas aidan said he'd prepared the horse badly.
seems he is so incompetent he can't train one for the guineas yet at the same time the greatest trainer ever,

Or he is selling a potential stallion so it will never be the fault of the horse. And he is fiercely loyal to people that work for him, so will never undermine them publicly.
For us on the outside it's all about clues isn't it. With AOB we can pretty much forget about anything he says. However, putting the champion 2yo's rep on the line again when there was any easy out was much more indicative (imo).

we all knew a potential superstar all looking forward to the Guineas , It just stinks really not what the sport needs tbh
How can you bet his horses or have a bet where his horses are in the race ?
One word RANK

all the clichés can be trotted out, they can't talk and they aren't machines. Any horse can blow out, for whatever reason he did in that race. Another cliché, it was way too bad to be his true running. So effectively, easier to forgive.

before last year when was the last time a derby winner finished out with the washing in it's previous race? i can't remember any. we're all mugs to them

Adayar was beaten in a listed race. I suppose going for an often brutal G1 is a bit different to running in a trial. We're in the here and now, and I stated that there was every reason to forgive the COT flop imv, it worked out this time. I'm not sure we've been in this scenario too many times where a brilliant 2yo who raced like he had stamina in abundance flopped in his first try as a 3yo in a G1 over a mile.

All the genius's on here and yet not a mention as to the reason last years winner and COT went for the Guineas before the Derby?
The answer is obvious and had been mooted but not a peep on this Forum but the experts come out of the woodwork post race and slag the jockey on the 2nd and laude the winning trainer as a Genius who had Paddington in handicap company, now says COT his best ever Derby winner.
Might well be so would Shep have beaten him iyo genius's and do any of you know the 2K Guineas obvious answer?

Well done impossible , you've been positive about the winner on numerous threads over the last few days despite the view being massively in the minority

'Hayden', thanks. Swings and roundabouts. I'd 'lay' of just over £200 to ensure a Green no matter what. If only he'd won the 2000G. If so, £1.5k to the good. I'm only a small recreational punter.
Now, I hope Kyprios runs in the Gold Cup on 20th June, and can oblige.

No I can't easily decipher your ramble, I'd have thought it was obvious enough that winning a guineas and derby gives the horse immortal status, put it in the top bracket commercially etc. The need for speed in the bloodlines. It was pretty obvious that he was doing his best work right at the end of his races as a 2yo (even after the post), and would likely appreciate a trip as a 3yo.

A further clue for Cider et al, AOB took the flack for the Guineas but has not mentioned why COT was in the race, the real reason!!!
The answer lies in previous statements and reports from "Connections" and not just concerning COT (Ambition) may help?

My free tip is to stay off the beer when posting. Plus, if you state an opinion pre race, it tends to carry more credibility. Whether the forum can understand it is not a given, to be fair.

Another defeat for you then Cider unless you can point out any post race claims of mine? Descending to personal attacks seems your stock in trade when faced with questions regarding your own forceful posts and yet I have claimed nothing and asked a simple question of your ilk?
