William Haggas has revealed impressive Dante winner Economics will not run in the Betfred Derby at Epsom on Saturday week. Economics will not contest the Prix du Jockey Club at Chantilly on the same weekend either, with connections keen to give him more time after his six-length victory on the Knavesmire. He was priced as the 5-2 second favourite for the Derby with a run with Paddy Power and Betfair Sportsbook behind 2-1 favourite City Of Troy. Haggas said: "After discussions with his owner His Highness Sheikh Isa, we have decided that Economics will not run in either the English or the French Derby next weekend. "We think that the turnaround is very tight for both races and feel he is still maturing. As such, we will give him more time and prepare him for an exciting summer campaign over ten furlongs. |

You know the fixture list is up the spout when a top trainer produces a good winner of the top Derby trial, but doesn't run in the Derby because the turnaround is too tight..

Nothing to do with the turnaround The Epsom Derby **** up Horses.(fact)

Only he never had the balls to say it.

not to worry another trial to come on Saturday, the cocked hat Stakes, ( old predominate ), the race TROY won.

ffs the horse bled badly after the race it didnt bang his head in the stalls. They will need time to get bute into it and stop the bleeding.
An American campaign beckons. |
|
By:
and the cost of admitting it bled is millions in stallion value. the barstewards are taking us for mugs...if you watch the race closely you will see the horse straightening it`s tail when challenging ,which can be a sign of something wrong. After the race Mrs H couldn`t give camera eye contact and the groom couldn`t get it back to stables quick enough.

Exactly pieman. I agree, it could well end up in the USA.
|
|
By:
More conspiracies? The horse had already been removed from the Derby entries before the Dante as the trainer did not think the race would suit him and it makes sense regardless of how well he won given his size and inexperience.

Btw Pieman, bute is not used to prevent bleeding!! HTH

Why get bute into the horse IYO?

By:
because my learned friend as I said in my earlier post its tail was straight when it made its challenge which can be and usually is a sign of discomfort in a horse.

It bled, regardless of the medication implications and where it runs next. The vet said 'it bled from the nose'.
|
|
By:
You agreed with Pieman honcho about bute and a campaign in America, regardless of the horse bleeding from the nose, totally non sensical and no factual basis?

You’d take your chance in the derby, fancy pulling it out what a bad decision that was, reminds me of frankel should have run but that was my antepost bet 66/1 and it would have won
