Peter Easterby

Must be the most under-rated trainer in Turf history when you think of all them great racehorses he trained: Sea Pigeon, Night Nurse, Little Owl, Alverton, Saucy Kit etc. What a legend he is. Won the Ebor and Chester Cup on the Flat too. Think he and Nicky share the record for Champion Hurdles won with 5 each. Amazing man. Still remember that very very sad day when the great Alverton got killed in the Grand National. I can`t remember it`s name but he lost another very very good horse that same season. Something? star in 1979. Ged or Onlooker or Ribero would know. Might have been a Snailwell Stud horse too.

Little Owl was a stamp of a horse and would be my all time favourite Easterby horse. Ridden by Mr A J Wilson of Willie Wumpkins fame.

...... And brother Mick a legend in his own right too. Mrs McArdy and Lochnager immediately spring to mind.
