I was surprised at how few bookmakers were in the the ring today at York. I cannot recall there being so many empty pitches in the past.

Internet has killed traditional bookmaking.

Serious punters that even go racing would not bet with online bookies.

Mobile phones = Exchange = Bigger prices.

Bookies have killed Bookmaking cos they dont make a bookk anymore.
They take the punters bet and give them 12s then back it on Betfair for 16s.
Thats not Bookmaking.

Been a pinch pennies market for years, even off course, whats name the Brighton firm send arbers around London. "One young man stood a bet, so I went and told his father off"?
BF was a gamechanger for anyone with opinions. PC, no liquidity until the off, a strong and healthy sportsbook...
Lads getting into the game on course now, even betting orthodox would get better I'm sure.

I'd have thought they'd be plenty of cash floating about with all this KYC and firms wanting proof of earnings.
