Don't think it is OK but a horrible fall.
By:
More fallers than the GN up the straight.
Is the ground loose |
By:
I might be wrong but looked like Marquand was easing off
on that,first glances. |
By:
horse and jockey ok according to Lydia, but that looked nasty and horse bound to be sore for a while
By:
Great news that both are OK. clipped heels probably. After the earlier fatality I feared the worst.
By:
Good news,both lucky there.

By:
Jocks moving across and moving into the faller and causing it to fall.
Buick caused it by moving across Levey who then moved into the faller |
By:
Indeed penzance. Your pretty high off the ground on horseback and falling off at 40mph does not bear thinking about in a field of that size.
By:
Best view would be from behind, but it looks as if Buick made his run moving across the second and triggering the fall. Is there even an enquiry?
By:
clipped heels both falls
By:
Big call but could you kick the first and second out?

If that move by Buick caused the fall then it's clearly dangerous riding for which he could be disqualified. You couldn't have much more evidence than the horse coming down.
By:
Horses are changing course all the time in straight course races so are you going to disqualify half of the field? Buick was crossed twice by others before the move that could have caused the fall.
By:
Running 10 minutes behind it looks like the Stewards just bottled making a decision, and decided instead to pretend nothing happened. If a horse comes down in that manner there should automatically be an enquiry.

Tom Marquand, the rider of TIBER FLOW (IRE) had fallen approximately 1 furlong from the line. The rider and Sean Levey, the rider of SHOULDVEBEENARING were interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, however William Buick, the rider of MILL STREAM (IRE) could not be interviewed as he had left the course. As a result of this, the enquiry was adjourned until the 16 May at York racecourse.

Thanks for posting.
The enquiry should have taken place before they weighed in. What was he doing leaving the course? He must have known he would have questions to answer. Not as if he was going to be riding at another meeting. |

By:
He ran away

Your 4th sentence eloquently answers your 3rd rather well dd

Following the continued enquiry this morning, Stewards have deemed the interference accidental.
