10f oaks trial and friendly soul is unbeaten 2 from 2 and clearly promising and should be more to come and is top rated here and understandably will be popular with many and should  be hard to beat ,but this race is full of well bred unexposed fillys and we dont know how good any of them are or could be .
i like a few at bigger prices and the beckett yard run 2   here classical song looks to have the best form of the 2 but i like the so called 2nd string  LA PASIONARA  who was a winner on her debut at salisbury on soft going then stepped up in grade in a newmarket listed contest finished down the field but that was on heavy  ground and she may not have coped with it ,whatever she has ribblesdale and oaks entries and maybe this better ground and step up in trip  will suit well bred and hector crouch up the combo won a lingfield oaks trial at the weekend and 28/1 looks big imo .

the fav may be too good but she only has 10 days to get over her pretty polly win and i like a few cracks at decent prices and FRANCOPHONE  was a good winner of a southwell h,cap after meeting plenty of trouble in running and could go close here ,well entered up she could be a fair bit better than her rating and  not to be underestimated .
SELECTIONS LA PASIONARA 28/1WIN BET BOG AND FRANCOPHONE 16/1 BOG WIN BET ...only 7 runners and i will have a few bets in the 3 place market on here .good luck opinions encouraged.

I'd be against Friendly Soul as it's only 10 days on from that run with a head to head the last 3 furlongs (would probably want to lay in the 2 or 3 place market, on basis that if she underperforms it could be to a significant level, and numerous potential improvers in the field). Not sure what beats her, but Balding Oisin seems big at the current 30 price.

I'm with you on Francophone Foyles, the Southwell win was done under a quiet ride and she managed to steer around the obstructions nicely.  The favourite looked good last time and Gosden certainly has a good record in this race. 3 of his last 4 winners in the race have been odds on and have had form figures of 1-1, the same as Friendly Soul.

I think this revolves around whether Friendly Soul reproduces her Newmarket win. If she does I would expect her to win comfortably. She has a Graded pedigree and Graded potential. I have backed her at slight odds against, but at current odds I would be happy to just watch.

Three negatives: the unusually quick turnaround; whether the jock will be able to execute the same dominating tactics, and the pressure on the jock to get the job done.

If she doesn't land the odds then I can see it being yet another very difficult day for punters.

was hanging right on the straights as well

Not an expected Balding 3yo winner but I did take a slice from 38 down to 30 as I back almost all of them.

Perhaps they have a Classic horse at Kingsclere after all.

winners price for the Oaks vary with the bookmakers between 25/1 and 8/1.they don't have clue.Laugh
Report Andriy May 15, 2024 4:00 PM BST
The way it was fighting Oisin early, i'm not sure i'd go up in trip, and would be thinking Nassau. But only chance at the Oaks...

8/1 you would lay to lose the national debt

shocking time

Unlucky Foyles not getting La Pasionara in the first three as well.  I was hopeful Francophone would go past the winner but happy with second in the end.

when asked if friendly soul will go oaks after his newmarket win gosser said no we have one for that .............siyola beat todays winner last time getting weight addmittedly but should improve
Report FOYLESWAR May 15, 2024 4:05 PM BST
well done andiyev and winners
Report sageform May 15, 2024 4:05 PM BST
I would certainly back the winner to beat any of todays opposition over the Oaks trip. She was going away again well in the last furlong and would have won 5 lengths over 12 furlongs. Not saying any of them are Oaks winners mind.

well done the wire !

End up penniless listening to Gosden.
Report FOYLESWAR May 15, 2024 4:07 PM BST
i put this siyola up and backed it on the ante post forum for the oaks but cashed out ,have gone back in again for smaller stakes with a view to top up every now and again at 16s or better .
Report sageform May 15, 2024 4:08 PM BST
There is no stable with more erratic form than Gosden this season. Some win impressively, others refuse to enter stalls, unseat leaving the stalls, tail off when odds on etc. etc.

might not have been siyola he was talking about sparrow ,but i liked the horses effort last time.

fav not taken part dealing with minor pattern race form today, wouldn't take 8/1 the winner to be placed in the oaks

Report sageform May 15, 2024 7:27 PM BST
Each to their own. All I said was that she would beat any of todays opposition over 12 furlongs and I stick by that. The third was fancied and had every chance, the second is from a very good Rausing family and like the winner was easy to back. However as we saw in France on Sunday and at Newmarket, the 3yo form is not really established yet. None of last years 2yo form is holding up.
