Premierisation is magic. I've been criticised in the past for pointing out there is no rationale, no explanation of how it is intended to work. Those who believe it will work are those who want or need it to work.
Premierisation is an act of faith rather than reason. |

Absolutely agree about making Sundays much stronger although maybe not the gold cup and royal ascot ,certainly races like the Chester cup ,July cup, goodwood finishing Sunday and even the grand national been run on a Sunday, plus others.in the winter the Newbury Hennessy fixture is dead in the water at the moment stick that on a Sunday also. |

Sorry but I strongly disagree. In theory it sounds fine, if you just look at the possible upside. If you look at racing as a numbers game and not a sport that involves real people running it.
But and a big "but", what about all the poor hard working jockeys and stable staff ? For the jockeys it is the one quietish day so they get a chance to see their families - and many have young children so it is also a chance for their children to see them. As is the case for the stable staff. I always feel bad for the jocks riding at a meeting at 9pm... Hardly fair is it, just to make some bookmaker happy. Racing 7 days a week 24 hrs a day is fine in principal but not in reality, in my opinion. |

Mondays blank days would be the brave route but alas will never be while bookies rule bha

Why do people on here think that stable staff, jockeys and all others involved in the industry cannot work the same as other working people and have a rostered day off in the week?
