Day 1 itv hello and welcome, new premier race days today from Kelso and Newbury, but first over to Doncaster for 3 better races.
2pm to 4pm.has this started,I ve not noticed it,apart from a 10.30 race at Chelmsford the other week.
The only real change is a badge emblem next to the courses name on the posts website.
Then this mornings news, they re selling off the days,a bit like footy clubs selling their stadiums or future season ticket sales.
Then a clue to the disaster, the dreaded PwC advisory firm, land and expand, tell anyone who lets us in whatever they want to here, but it must involve PwC as part of the role out. Their first recommendation was to employ a mathematician to show price wise how to find winners.
Weak managers, who are to scared to make a decision,so need PwC to tell them what to do,then can blame them when it goes wrong.
I think one thing racing could do,is go all out,Saturday Sunday. Gold cup on a Sunday, ascot last day Sunday,Chester cup Sunday,
Every big day sat,sun.
For chelt hotels cheaper at weekend, plus people would make it a 2/3day trip.
Now I know there’s a bit of corporate, day off work skivving, that encourages box sales, but it’s worth doing the maths.
Premierisation is magic. I've been criticised in the past for pointing out there is no rationale, no explanation of how it is intended to work. Those who believe it will work are those who want or need it to work.
Premierisation is an act of faith rather than reason.

Absolutely agree about making Sundays much stronger although maybe not the gold cup and royal ascot ,certainly races like the Chester cup ,July cup, goodwood finishing Sunday and even the grand national been run on a Sunday, plus others.in the winter the Newbury Hennessy fixture is dead in the water at the moment stick that on a Sunday also.

Sorry but I strongly disagree. In theory it sounds fine, if you just look at the possible upside. If you look at racing as a numbers game and not a sport that involves real people running it. But and a big "but", what about all the poor hard working jockeys and stable staff ? For the jockeys it is the one quietish day so they get a chance to see their families - and many have young children so it is also a chance for their children to see them. As is the case for the stable staff.
I always feel bad for the jocks riding at a meeting at 9pm... Hardly fair is it, just to make some bookmaker happy.
Racing 7 days a week 24 hrs a day is fine in principal but not in reality, in my opinion.

Why do people on here think that stable staff, jockeys and all others involved in the industry cannot work the same as other working people and have a rostered day off in the week?
