...been raining for 6 months (and that really is barely an exaggeration) , good ground yesterday and today (unraced on on for 8 months or so ) ; a nice dry day (for once at Chester) and he is ALREADY talking about "assessing" the position after racing and will "probably " put on a bit to provide "nice, safe racing ground". If I hear of this happening I am going to write to the BHA with a letter that will smoulder with anger.
