That's the key to these two races, and unless you happen to be 'in the know' then you are just guessing. One has a form chance, the other has a pedigree to win. Will it just get the not so bothered 'educational run'? For me there's a fine line between 'educational run', and a 'non trier', as both end up leaving the impression the horse could be better than it's finishing position. It seems you can get away with the 'educational run' as you are perceived to be not deliberately trying to lose the race, but how hard are you actually trying to win it? Anyway, I think it's fair to say Asian Star was given no more than an 'educational run' last time, and the ride was an absolute shocker. No guarantee that Skelton won't attempt similar antics today. Do you want to find out at odds on?
I have had a small each-way on Rockola Vogue who has attracted some market support. The dam wasn't very good (for Skelton), but she has produced a very impressive bumper winner on good ground. Asian Star might be too good, but I think Roaring Home each-way is the safer option.
At the moment the market suggests Skelton is on for a double, both horses smashed up.
Ridden differently, but very disappointing from the Skelton hotpot. Fingers well and truly burnt for favourite backers, probably not got many left with the results these days. Also very disappointing in a different way for Roaring Home. Punted from 15/2-4/1 and looked all over the winner. Alice Stevens (5) desperately weak up the straight, only seemed to get after the runner up after she had run out of track.

Skelton double landed. Second one as disappointing as the first. Didn't look as if it was anywhere prepped to win, which is so often the case for this yard. As for me 15/2 and 16/1 each-ways landed, but it's only winners that cover the losses. First one should have won, and the second lost ground turning in, and was beaten by a couple of bookmaker specials. Far too often over the last couple of seasons these races have been won by stables might get one bumper winner a year, and that's if they are lucky. Consequently, they are usually massive prices.
