I know which is the better horse, by a mile.
By:
Really? You're putting COT in the Frankel category?
By:
It will win the derby aswell,so then the debate begins,O’Brien tend never to look impressive, they aim to win,so why run faster than you need to before you need to.
We ll see tomoz.should be fun. |
By:
I'm considering playing against him. I think if there's one time to take him on it's in the 2000 Guineas. If he's the superstar everyone wants to see and he bolts up? Then so be it, I'd take it on the chin and I won't take him on again for the rest of the season.
But at the prices if has to be done IMO |

Think it’s a no bet or lay on fav,
Hit and hope ew bet on any of the others for most punters.you ll get good odds. It’s a strange sport, where punters back an outsider, but then sort of seem happy,if they re hammered by 10L by a good un. |
By:
The 1 thing Frankel wasnt doing @ the end was pulling away. Leading by 10 /12 lengths in a classic running into a headwind is far harder imo.

Frankel a power house with bully boy tactics
City of Troy looks a much more athletic type and will more than likely race prominently and try to extend away with his extravagant action, which I think/hope he will ![]() |
By:
COT isn't athletic. He is small and unsubstantial. He's the worst looking Dewhaurst winner I've ever seen and I will be interested to see if he has grown any over the winter.
By:
Perhaps it might be better to make the comparison in a couple of years time? Just to give City Of Troy the chance to be unbeaten in 14 races.
Going clear might have looked spectacular, but the Guineas was actually one of Frankel's worst performances. It was a terrible field, and Dubawi Gold should never have got within 6 lengths of a horse who ended up being rated 140. |

Frankel won probably the worst guineas that has ever been run. Kept on beating the same horses not one of them could be called a great. Was kept in his comfort zone to protect him being unbeaten, not like the Brigadier, Sea the Stars, Sea Bird, Dancing Brave and a few others you could mention. The list is endless. Frankel a very good horse but hyped way out of proportion for what he actually achieved.
By:
Why are we talking about Frankel? This race is all about the possibility of City Of Troy being a very good horse, possibly a great one or a superstar as intimated by connections. Until he wins this, and his next race (hopefully The Derby) and then The Derby possibly The Eclipse or Juddmonte or The Leger or The Arc. Until another couple of wins in prestigious and recognised Gp 1 races City Of Troy is just another budding 3 yr old with potential.
However, one thing City Of Troy will not achieve is a sequence of 13 straight wins as he's very unlikely to be racing in 2026. |

By:
More like £10 if you are lucky. Not worth the trouble.
By:
I got £10 for Havertz (evens/sot) and City Of Troy (11/10). The former has been paid out.
By:
It's wholly welcome for a bit of fun.
By:
dd being negative for the sake of being negative.
By:
I think at this stage I'll stick with Frankel
By:
Looks like it would be close between the two imo

The lads knew

Lol

I don't know what is funnier, the OP's opinion of COT vs Frankel or his opinion of Scholes
![]() |
By:
My gran used to go to the shops quicker than he went through the dip there
By:
and she was pulling her trolley
By:
eric - was she known as granny the dip?
By:
Lol
By:
ITV team seem to have gone rather quiet on City Of Troy ha ha
By:
I think O’Brien and Moore walked the straight quicker than he came up it there
By:
Why they let scholes ride it it,should of stuck with Moore,
Slow away, mistimed tackle, yellow carded half way, dropped back to holding role in the pack. |
By:
What will come to light is a horse like Frankel wants to stride out with enthusiasm and built like a brick outhouse had the power to show it whereas a horse like City of Troy had to have his @rse whipped frantically to get a response last season and is built like Timothy Chalamet
By:
cuth,
Only pulling your leg, although disagree on Scholes, fair play for going out on a limb and having a crack before the race...fook knows what went wrong with him ![]() |
By:
Got to wait till next season to find out O'briens next champion lol
By:
Can ‘t wait but i’m sure it will be a fakin machine
By:
I think Frankel just edges it ;)

Literally Frankel could beat him on 3 legs, and possibly running backwards
By:
Amazing how many frankel was obviously the better horse, after the race timers,
I blame excelebration for retiring, otherwise city of Troy could of beat it 6 times and been highest rated horse ever. |
By:
Nothing whatsoever to do with Frankel.
By:
Unlikely not be ring-rusty given his trainer's professionalism. I think it's probable he's not trained on, finishing behind Haatem. If so, odds-on retirement next.
