Clearly misjudged the going conditions on Allegorie De Vassy. The horse has finished legless, I think he's had a word in his ear for not making enough use on Galopin Des Champ

And overdone that ride today. Not often you can say he was poor on one but that there was definitely one of them.
Nice ride on the winner I thought, not getting sucked in to chasing down the jolly too quickly.

Absolutely agree but Townend probably made his mind up for him by going the fractions that he did.
Easy watching on the telly though. In practice it's the Mullins and Townend hotpot many lengths ahead. Far easier to chase it down too quickly. ADV is a notoriously weak finisher, whilst it seems most likely he went to quick off the front, it's not certain imo and she might have jacked it in anyway.
It's not been a good week for Townend. At the start of the week he was fancied to overturn Kennedy. Got run down on a few, and several held up and never in contention.
At least Kennedy tried to stretch the fav then and it looked like it at the end
Well deserved,great young jockey that's had more than his share of injury.
Surprised Townend made so much use of a couple of them there on Friday on that ground,he'd normally be riding them more like Kargese on that surface.
