Actually put together as a proof, but never published, as many journalists would wrongly lead you to believe.

Fortunately Declan made a reasonable recovery and has a decent life away from the racing game.

Some other details:

Fell or UR in about 3rd place - horse behind accidently kicked Murphy smashing his skull in 12! places
Induced coma and a long rehabilitation.

Returned to briefly ride, but think that was just a psychological matter.

Years later, I believe Declan asked for a copy of the unpublished Racing Post and his wish was granted

Skull shattered in twelve places, believed to be dead the last rites were read. His final winning ride at Chepstow was interesting to say the least, the jockeys clearly all wanted him to go out with a win. The book Centaur is a very good read.

The Greek name for a Thessalonian tribe of expert horsemen; of unknown ultimate origin.
