4 runners. 3 Mullins horses and 500/1 outsider. Racing is just in terrible decline bar a few owners and trainers. What a Bore. Cant even be bother to watch that race.

Gaelic Warrior hadn't the speed over the trip on the better ground. The winner made several mistakes and still won.

Must be the worst ever Punchestown festival for Mullins.

Looked like a very slowly run race. Townend probably just going through the motions rather than thinking about tactics...

He done the same in 4.15 race. Short price and never in with a chance.

Lines up outside , too far back , gets them beat by getting going too late then that race he lines up inside and nearly gets brought down so takes himself out wide again , you couldn't make it up.

MJK - is Danny getting closer to be coming number 1 at Willie's?  Is there any appetite to replace Townend?

You never know Kris. Two things though he's under little pressure when riding the second strings and many other trainers don't use him as he ca  be the Irish version of STD in that he rarely goes round without burying a few obstacles. I find him a very good judge of pace. I'm sure when Townend was second jockey to Ruby manycwere asking the same question.

Any layers listening to Davy Russell before the race would've made a few Bob. He said if this horse didn't jump the first we'll he had no chance. He turned out to be spot on.

regardless of performance of horse and/or jockey on hot fav....o.p. is correct . its rubbish for the status and money . and for racegoers . total overhaul needed for jumping in ire/ uk or it will go down the pan within a few years . far too many so called gr1 opportunities , likewise mares races seemingly put on for breeders sales spikes . i have never given the punchestown festival this year  so little thought or viewing and i've been many times in the past . 5 days is a joke but i suspect even the course know that .
