Interesting to see what comes out of this year's race. Last year first three Ballyburn,  Dancing City, Slade Steel.

Ballyburn didn't win this bumper.

Had they gone faster winner would have won even easier. Not so sure that the Cheltenham bumper was that good.

It's mad RR. There's usually two or three decent ones and the rest full of a lot of fodder. Willie is happy with the status quo though....

Take out the bumpers and that's a day off the Festival. That's what Cheltenham would look like if they added another day (thankfully now shelved).

One thing Irish racing does right is hold no other meetings while Punchestown is on. In Britain, any festival is seen as an excuse to fleece betting shop mugs with an endless supply of smaller meetings.

There is a lot of filler at Punchestown. Tomorrow there is a hunter chase for "horses that are the bona fide and unconditional property of farmers farming land in the Kildare Hunt District who have a herd number from the Department of Agriculture, whose ostensible income is from farming".

The Punchestown Festival cannot be compared with DRF/Cheltenham/Aintree as a horse racing event.
