I wish he was on rtv more than he is . He's the only pundit on any channel who speaks like a gambler. He's had a pretty hard life but he,s still trying to beat the bookies . I read one of his books many years ago , but I remember it being a good read ( if you're a gambler )

pretty hard life,made millions of £ working in city during dotcom boom,then made plenty out of mug punters in early days of betfair,on track,fast pics etc etc,

If you take crowbarring irrelevant party politics out of it, he is very unprofessional as a broadcaster. Next to no research, unkempt, can never remember to turn the mic on, can never remember his own tips unless they are put up on the screen for him. On the upside he does seem to go through it like a typical punter.

Maybe the OP is referring to Object being an obvious one. What he really should be doing is putting some context into it, (maybe he did I didn't see it), something like.. "hard to oppose and even at the price I'm fine with backing it", or, "the horse has the best chance on paper but the price is prohibitive". Any so called pundit is on a hiding to nothing with a set up like that. Really hard to start tipping horses you don't think will win just to take on one that you think is too obvious.
For all that though, I really question whether anyone with enough interest in racing to subscribe to RTV is really in need of this sort of input, and certainly shouldn't be needing "tips".

objective analysis is required, probably why he's packed in pro punting

I would have thought the social media betting site that went bust took a big chunk off him but I thought he was unlucky as it looked years ahead of its time and punters take time to change , good luck to him

What happened to Dave was he lost focus he started doing this and that if he had just kept punting he would have been ok.
