Suspect there may be a few words being exchanged in the weighing room after that. Wonder if the stewards will be handing a ban to Brookes. That could have been nasty for Sullivan imo.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 1 furlong out involving ODD VENTURE (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Aiden Brookes, PRINCE HECTOR (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Paula Muir and SUGARPIEHONEYBUNCH (IRE), unplaced, ridden by James Sullivan. Brookes was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to edge left-handed, without sufficient correction, resulting in SUGARPIEHONEYBUNCH (IRE) receiving a bump, becoming short for room and Sullivan having to take a check off the heels of PRINCE HECTOR (IRE).
3 day ban for "without sufficient correction". An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 1 furlong out involving ODD VENTURE (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Aiden Brookes, PRINCE HECTOR (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Paula Muir and SUGARP
The Brighton incident where Greatrex continued to use his whip in his right hand as his mount drifted left taking Queally's mount with them, and then using it again in the right hand when they were next to the rail, causing Queally to stop riding, well this is what the stewards made of it:
"An enquiry was held to consider interference in the final half furlong, when the winner ELFORLEATHER, ridden by Edward Greatrex, interfered with OUR PAPA SMURF, placed second, ridden by Tom Queally. The interference was found to be accidental as ELFORLEATHER had shifted quickly left-handed away from the whip, before being corrected by Greatrex."
Unbelievable, Jeff
