cracking few days to look forward to and hopefully some decent betting opportunitys , can gordon henry de brom and co stop the mullins juggernaut ? probably not ,wpm will have a slice of the of the pie probably a big slice but he cant win em all can he? he has a strong hand in the grade1 novice hurdle and his and henrys will be popular but townend rides tullyhill who has to put a dissapointing supreme run behind him ,he may have had excuses but at the prices i like the look of ASIAN MASTER who was an excellent 5th upped in class when around 5 lengths behind slade steel and mystic power in the supreme , jumped and travelled well and should improve and not that much to find,jock looks competent enough and ground s no problem and going this way round could suit better and 20/1 could be worth an ew pop .
also later on in the 3m novice chase one who looks a big price is gordons SALVADOR ZIGGY who made a bright start to his chasing career winning his first 3 races and then running a blinder in the kerry national under a big weight ,you have to ignore his last 2 runs when not completing in america over hurdles and he reportedly bled in the n.hunt chase at the festival hopefully gordon has ironed out the issues and he comes out top on official ratings here .33/1 firms and bigger on here seems very generous imo.

One Festival to many .....This Meeting has always had zero interest for me.
i love walking in minefields , 66/1 ziggy now what has denise heard?
I tend to agree with acey and find a vet would be more useful than a form book .

he could well be but at around 4/6 better value lies elswhere each way shirley!
the irish champion chase has a good shape to it ,the usual suspects and wpm well represented and capt guiness back for more ,an open race lots with chances but away from the obvious ones at the front of the market this should be run at a furious pace with dysart dynamo and a few others prob cutting out the running the closers could come into it late but ash tree meadow at a big price appeals to me and might have a better chance than his odds suggest a prominent racer and won the galway plate has won over this trip and best form on goodish going may be best at further but this should be a real test and 40/1 looks big imo.

I agree this is one festival too many. Nonetheless, Tullyhill could reward backers at 8/1. He was 11/4 fav in The Supreme at Cheltenham. I also like Dinoblue who's been backed into 6/5 from 15/8 yesterday;'lay' Bainbridge - he hates the ground.
More Grade 1s over the Meeting than you can shake a stick at ffs......11 Grade 1s dont seem right to me.

One of these days we will get a Grade 1 run at a decent gallop..don't know when though.
blackmore is a 7lb penalty ,wonder who,ll be the 1st pundit to start mentioning it,seems to spend more time trying to cling on and keep the horse straight than riding finishes

Yes, 4/5 into 4/9. 'd have definitely 'lay' him; it was greed to run post Cheltenham, and last year. Similarly, Corach Rambler.
Tomorrow…the defending champ Kilbeg King returns to try and go back to back in the same race.

Thanks FOYLEWAR,Mullins has the 2 Grade ones by the short and curlies with Stateman @ 2/7 and Ballyburn @ 2/9 so I'll probably be watching more than backing.

If there's now one festival too many I think Cheltenham is rapidly closing in on favouritism on that score....First two days heee see the horses have a betthen watch the race repeat with the odd pint of the black stuff occasionally and then out of the car park in under five minutes...try all that at cheltenham
I wonder whether sponsors might consider pulling out of this "festival". A programme where the Cheltenham winners turn up dog-tired annually. Another shortie fav bites the dust.
Haven't bothered to look at tomorrow's card yet. Fizzling out like a damp squib, even more unbackable fodder races than Cheltenham.
Today's card is ineffectual; a waste of time and effort.
No future Champion Hurdle contenders taking on State Man eg Lossiemouth and Ballyburn (touted as another Faugheen). What's the purpose?; Constitution Hill ought to have gone to Punchestown last season to cement his Cheltenham crown.
When you stage top class races with fantastic prize money that's all you can do , so leaving it to the participants to make the race , if one horse scares them off you can't suddenly decide what's the point and wonder why the race exists , don't remember too many complaints when Frankel kept winning at 1/20 although those races could also be considered a waste of time vs the same field with only the place over broke from the prohibitive odds it created being of any interest to me personally.
Take it for what it is , watch champions perform but remember you don't have to bet or even moan if you don't want to.

Why isn't Lossiemouth taking on Stateman, they want to find out don't they?
Nothing to gain really. Stateman a shoe-in today, and nothing to gain risking it getting beaten thanks to a Mares allowance.
