An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference on the run to the line, involving the winner LUNARIO (IRE), ridden by Kieran O’Neil and BEYLERBEYI, placed second, ridden by David Egan. The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved LUNARIO (IRE)’s placing as LUNARIO (IRE) had come from behind BEYLERBERI, which was carried slightly off its intended line. The Stewards were of the opinion that BEYLERBERI had suffered no significant loss of momentum and could not be satisfied that, with an uninterrupted run to the finish, BEYLERBERI would have finished in front of LUNARIO (IRE), as the momentum lost was less than the distance of half a length at the finish. O’Neill was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his mount to shift left under a right-handed drive carrying BEYLERBEYI marginally off its intended line.
