Take your pick, went too hard too soon, didn’t like the ground or its OR is a load of ****

Jockey spends a fortune buying horses and riding them himself, but he is useless, admits it himself and anybody who gets drawn into backing him deserves the losses that follow.
By:
Useless? I take it you did not watch his ride in The National.

Ann Stokell over jumps

Dreadful

Nothing wrong with that ride and anybody that thinks otherwise is clueless.Imho of course.

I mean if he would have sat and waited and got beat you MUGS would have hung him from the rafters.

To be fair it was another absolute shambles of a ride by Maxwell. Not a clue .Mclernon just sat and laughed at him.Richie gave him a right good lesson in race riding there.
By:
Sorry i have to disagree.
By:
Instead of slating sack o spuds Maxwell, how about praising Richie for a clever ride?
By:
I just don`t get the constant criticism of Mr Maxwell on every occasion he has a ride in a race. Getting on the verge of a cult obsession. If you don`t rate hime - don`t bet him - Simples.
... or even LAY him to get beat. Punters are a fickle lot. |
By:
He owns them and pays thousands for keeping them in training so he can please himself and nothing to do with anyone else.
By:
I admire people like Maxwell good luck to him.
By:
100% sparrow , punters like a moan though in general.
Reckon the thinking punters know the vast majority of imponderables are already factored into 100% exchange books so Cobden on board the horse would probably have been around 1/4 instead of 4/9. Would Cobden have won on the horse though we're all totally guessing however strong an opinion we have ![]() |

Not sure David has to worry too much about the pension fund

I agree good luck to him ,but absolutely hopeless. Not just his riding ability but race reading brain just isn't there.

The guy is on a mission to ride next Years Grand National Winner and with the Dosh he has got to spend it would not be impossible.

Sam Wally Cohen did it and no reason why Maxwell could not do the same.

He brings back a bit of good nostalgia and the scenario with Spartan Missile

The guy is a pompous clown. As his behaviour at Hexham today proves.
By:
how is he pompous?
seems the opposite |

Comes across to me as a decent guy who's enjoying life's rollercoaster

SQ - I think you've been behind bars for too long
By:
He was interviewed at the start of the afternoon and said neither would be suited by soft but they were in to run to try to lose his claim before end of season so anyone listening would have heard the negativity today.

Joker De Mai must have have ran more than a stone behind his previous form (when ridden by same jockey) . Nothing Maxwell did goes anywhere near explain the form difference. The jockey is an amateur and everyone (on this forum at least) knows he is not up to a professional jockey.

By:
acey the good old Corinthian spirit long may it continue at least he gives it a go and as somebody pointed out seems a remarkably nice bloke hip hip hooray for Maxie.

Credit where credit is due, he's surpassed himself with that one
