Odd program for ITV at 9.00, seems most of these working class blokes are Accountants, so hardly typical working class Northerners, but still good to see a program about horse racing.
Not quite a Dream Alliance type film but ok so far. |
By:
I will watch it later on ITV X
By:
Nice to see a group of friends with a horse but hard to make it particularly exciting as obviously a good fun horse who gives them plenty of days out but that's about it at the moment.
By:

90 mins of my life i wont get back
HORSE OWNERSHIP FOR DUMMIES springs to mind, some invented qualifying system for an egg b spoon race on a sunday, whist everytime he finished unplaced their chance got better because he fell down the handicap they,ll probably buy a bridge next time, what came 1st the mental heakth problems or the horse or did leona and production team see a chance to use the group to produce a mental health awareness programme ? |
By:
Ripon Thursday Ronnie,we don't go to this meeting.
By:
Enjoyable program imho
By:
Never told us they had run it down the field six times to get it back on its old mark for York.
Still lost. Then sneaked a win at Musselburgh and none of them were on. Thats racing folks. |
By:
Not for the doom and gloom on here obviously
By:
Are you at Thirsk on Saturday ribero?
By:
Quite enjoyable, but did wonder why they picked this horse and group of owners to make a program about. As previously said was really about Men's mental health and the need to talk about things that men traditionally kept to themselves.
Wonder what horse cost them to buy and in training fees and typically won when none of them was there. Decent bunch of lads though and looking forward to York gave them something to focus on when some things in their lives weren't so good. |
By:
they said horse cost 8 grand
By:
Yes, so they did, about 1200 each to buy and £70 a week each I guess.
By:
to be fair with one cheap horse they had 2 uninterupted seasons and plenty of runs
By:
Yes,will be there dealer,Thirsk told us pre season they were expecting about 40% drop off due to late start so not too busy! at least weather looks better than last week.
By:
the main lads going to feel a right charmer tonight when his young kids hear him effing and blinding for an hour on tv
By:
I wasn't sure what to expect with the late start but that's a big predicted drop off. Hopefully better weather might encourage more to go.
By:
Yes it's the first one (Ripon same next week),problem at this time of year of course is the weather,it gets too cold early evening, think Ripon & Thirsk just wanted to get them out of the way early, take it you're there? Good luck.
By:
Yes, as long as the going stays on the soft side. It's a 7 hour round trip for us. Dedication or madness lol
By:
Dealer.
May I ask how was Saturday. Ronnie. |
By:
We were probably a bit busier than most, we have no competitor. 1450 bets, 340 on the ssbts, kept 25% of £10k ronnie
