If you see the other fred - there were a few saying lay it months ago on here and they even had the edge it might not even run but they still got it wrong. At least GC just got it wrong on the day, lol.

How'd anyone lay the clear winner of the Bobbyjo? It's the pivotal race for the main event. I guess with the owner and trainer fielding so many getting the correct one on the day might not be as simple as abc.

Can't rem GC tipping a winner, of course that's not the business he is in, seen him put punters off a few winners, they all do, that's thar game, innit. unless these guys are playing bf with their own money I don't think they should be offering that kind of financial advice. 1/10 ffs.

Tbh, I hadn't seen some of his races, but I saw The Road to Aintree on RTV, when they highlighted how much ground I am Maximus had lost at some of his fences in the Irish National and Bobbyjo chases, as well as jumping out to his left at times, so I suppose understandable why some people might have been reaching for the lay button.
cuz obviously if he does that in the National... Though fair play to Ruby Walsh as he was more positive, saying he thought the testing ground would slow them down and this would help, even if the ground didn't turn out to be as bad as they thought it might be. |

I like GC but I can remember back in the day he said Noland was the lay of the week in the Supreme Novices at 10/1.Went 1000 in running and won under an inspired ride from Ruby.
We are all only a click away from disaster -I can remember another Supreme Novice where Wicklow Brave sent to post like a lunatic and I laid him for everything I had.The horse was beaten but subsequently won a County Hurdle and an Irish Leger.A bullet dodged. |

In his defence I should mention he was only journo that asked what the hell was going on when powers that be wouldn't say which big uk flat yards had tested pos for steroids.
I think JC got frozen out for a while after that too. Was it the Newmarket vet snake oil or summit that had the stuff innit, can't rem. journos used to do investigating, accross the board it's gone. That asside he does talk a lot of crap and would be at home on here with the best of us, only diff is he gets paid for it Even Bob cooper is afraid to throw the odd stone now, he used to chuck a few curved balls at the game, doesn't even mention the pies anymore. Even having a go at the price of food on course is a no no, who we got fighting the good fight? |
