I've won more. Landed a few big forecasts and cross doubles.

Used to back in the old days when the Racing Post published form figures but television coverage (and betting) was based on who was famous rather than playing well.

I'm on the jolly (Hotshots Skybet) and McIlroy as ever for 12 places. My favourite golf tournament, loved the period when the European players ruled the roost in the 80's to middle 90's; Sandy Lyle, Nick Faldo (twice) & Ian Woosnam sequence brilliant.
By:
I loved the BBC coverage with Peter Allis brilliant wit. Sky commentators a bit too dry for me and less interesting characters playing nowadays.
By:
Not to mention Sevvy, Langer, Olazabal and Willett.
![]() Cant believe its not on terrestrial tv, not even the highlights ![]() |

I have layed Scheffler, surely he cant keep winning ? Hopefully that will pay for my bets going into the final round.

Ewan Murrays voice is so mundane it sends me to sleep, and Radar just doesnt seem professional enough. Mark McCormack was superb back in the 80's
By:
A drab line up nowadays full of has-beens and who-are-yous, no doubt we will get to see every one of Tiger's shots as per, and possibly of a few of the probable winner's shots on the last day, but wouldn't bank on it if they come from the clouds.

I've gone for sportsbooks 12 places on a few that didn't have horrific prices in comparison to exchange

the sportsbook win book is ~200% and place book is ~66%, so more or less breakeven, but quite a lot of variance in the prices in comparison to the market.

Is Sandy Lyle still in it ?
By:
No Hayden. He played last year 2023 but has retired now.

All previous winners get an automatic invitation despite their age.

Tournament started officially in order by
Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson. Three true legends not just in Golf but in all sports and life itself. |
By:
Player certainly got the most out of his game. Nicklaus a true legend. Watson a fantastic wind/links player.
By:
Couldn't agree more. So very well put. The golden age of golf as far as I am concerned.
If only Tom had dropped down to a seven iron! |
By:
I dont think he factored in the adrenalin rush at trying to win The Open at the age of 59. He absolutely nailed it straight at the stick.
By:
I know. What a man.
By:
Gary always does a little kick after his drive, not bad for 88.....Jack 84....Tom 74

By:
Tatt, cheers for link. Not seen Jack in a fair while, he seemed less hunched over so that was good to see. Watson could probably still get round in par!
By:
Cheers, swifty.
Would be something if Gary kept up his fitness regime and he managed to tee off at 100...not so sure Jack will be able to keep it up for that much longer. |
By:
To think that Gary was so driven he came over to play in his first St. Andrews Open and,.........slept on the beach the night before!
By:
The place money is looking good just a case of can he bring home the bacon.
Good luck to all who have taken my advice and backed him you have a good trade now. Seaside. |
By:
anyone who trades that bet should give up betting
By:
I have not traded I have pressed up the best player in the world by miles and one shot clear I am happy to take my chances
