At the start of the week, the owner was quoted as saying that neither were likely to run unless there was good in the ground description, yet both are declared with the ground in the current state. So if one or both are withdrawn due to 'state of ground' i presume it would be a slap on the hand, maybe just a small fine, and Mullins and Elliot laughing their heads of that 2 other runners (probably other trainers) aren't in the field thus increasing the chances of their plentiful options amongst the meagre 32 left. If this happens i hope the fine as it least equivalent to any prize money won in the race... alas, wishful thinking?

I imagine connections of Malina Girl and Desertmore House disappointed this morning and will be raging if one, or both of these get pulled out.

Ground staff look to have the ground in good nick considering all the rain.

It's only Thursday so fully entitled to find out if the weather forecast is accurate , owners make the big decisions in the Grand National.

The fact that the withdrawals will lessen their chances of winning won't have entered such great trainers heads.
