Bha or jcr

To run a grade one novice chase immediately after the grand national this after changing the racing calendar bullying small course to highlight the best racing during peak times they call it premierisation.

A race won in previous years by the likes of jonbon, shishkin, douvan, tidal bay, well chief and the most talented chaser of the last 50 years sprinter sacre even the majority on course won’t get to appreciate it.

But of course these clowns who make these decisions are only around a few years before they go and f..k up some other industry.

......You're not a fan I take it Jim.....

How did these people get their position if lacking horseracing knowledge? Nepotism, cronyism or they were the best who'd applied?
Report democrat April 10, 2024 5:42 PM BST
Far be it from me to disagree with you jimnast but regrettably they don't impair 'another industry' they tend to move sideways within the same organisation and continue to practice their incompetence. BHA and JCR don't know or want to know the meaning of the word 'sack'.
Report jimnast April 10, 2024 5:43 PM BST
No richgit all I see are these people ruining the sport one bad idea after another
Report jimnast April 10, 2024 5:45 PM BST
It’s a stream of them ever since the jockey club finished running the game richgit as I say none are in it for the long term don’t are only interested in there salary not the sport.

All decided by the TV companies, isn't it?
Report jimnast April 10, 2024 5:49 PM BST
Hello democrat will I see you any of the days next week whilst I’m spending my money with jcr ?
Report impossible123 April 10, 2024 5:49 PM BST
Mr Nick Rust's tenure at the BHA was the beginning of the incessant decline in UK horseracing and betting levy contribution but a proliferation of fobt; his sudden resignation along with his counterpart at the Gambling Commission was iffy prior to AC consultation was very iffy. Now, I believe Mr Nick Rust is doing something similar in the same or affiliated sector.
Report racing6699 April 10, 2024 5:51 PM BST
Nick Rust seems to fail everywhere he goes
Report jimnast April 10, 2024 5:51 PM BST
If that’s the case sparrow why invent premierisation then shove a grade one late on a Saturday afternoon, smalltracks will be badly affected by this crazy idea which jcr was involved with the decision and have already gone back on there word only yesterday
Report democrat April 10, 2024 5:52 PM BST
Certainly not in a working capacity jimnast. I might pay a visit on one of the first two days and if I do I shall look for you.
Report jimnast April 10, 2024 5:53 PM BST
Rust is in charge of the sp enough said I don’t fancy liable.
Report jimnast April 10, 2024 5:59 PM BST
Racing

He does seem to fail everywhere he goes but still gets well looked after for it.
Report jimnast April 10, 2024 6:01 PM BST
I shall keep me eye out for you also democrat weather seems ok at the moment.

Mr Rust's appointment at the BHA was met with dismay, distrust and utter disbelief by some senior Flat trainers. How'd a bookie rep for yonks be allowed to be in charge of the regulator of UK horseracing? Has this ever happened elsewhere eg Ireland? I cannot see it ever happening in Aussieland or the USA.

But, it only proves one thing ie the UK horseracing is controlled by bookies!
Report jimnast April 10, 2024 6:17 PM BST
He has at least allowed his old paymasters to return there own sp that’s loyalty for you
Report impossible123 April 10, 2024 6:34 PM BST
The Post Office/Horizon debacle the leader of the sub-postmasters group dubbed the senior management at the Post Office as "thugs in suits". Could this be levied at UK horsearacing regulatory and betting/gaming bodies?
Report jimnast April 10, 2024 6:39 PM BST
To be fair impossible .whilst I don’t like what there doing to the sport I don’t think from what I’ve read there in the post office mobs league .
Report impossible123 April 10, 2024 6:58 PM BST
With reluctance I'd agree with you 'jimnast'. However, I think what the bookies have been and still doing courtesy of the BHA turning a blind-eye despite this sharp practice is hurting levy contribution for horseracing.

The latest being prize money is being slashed by £1.5m.
Report impossible123 April 10, 2024 7:01 PM BST
I meant to say bet restriction and closing of accounts hurting levy contribution.

Used to be an Amateur riders race, if my mind serves me well, just what was needed to get your breath back.

Agree totally, it is a shame and a shambles.
Report jimnast April 10, 2024 7:27 PM BST
That’s right barstool it was an amateur race like the old diamonds ladies race king George day it was very punter friendly
Report barstool April 10, 2024 7:43 PM BST
I used to enjoy The Templegate hurdle as forerunner to the National as well.

Times change, not always for the best alas.

I do think on the whole aintree produce a good program they’ve messed up on Saturday but from what I’ve seen of the final decs for the first two days barstool this years fixture is on a different planet that the festival, the opening race Friday try and put a line through one of those ,tomorrow in the grade ones not many you could dismiss easily.
Report barstool April 10, 2024 8:01 PM BST
Excellent card indeed. Will just enjoy watching the bumper, not races I bet on.
Report jimnast April 10, 2024 8:10 PM BST
Bumper looks very open this year I have found the winner on a few occasions I was impressed with the Paul Nichols horse at wincanton but hard to be sure about the strength of the race and it seems very week on here.
Report barstool April 11, 2024 12:43 PM BST
Had a look at the VT of Jubilee Alpha's win from I've Madeupmymind at Wincanton, very impressed. I've Madeupmymind ran behind Honky Tonk Highway in a Sandown listed race next time. Having said that I do not like betting bumper's I could not resist a bit ew at 10/1.
