Please dont rush up to the counter  if you back the national winner many do .
Corals may take 30 mins to settle bets on this years national.
Good luck looking forward to it,

The shop will be getting 10 bacon  and 10 sausage sandwiches delivered at 9 o clock as well as 20 cappuccinos.
Ronnie.

The good old days of manual settlement. Several thousand slips to mark up and there would be several guys straight up at the counter as their 50p each way crosses the line in 4th.

I only did it part time for a couple of years while I was at uni 20-odd years ago. Enjoyed it more than any other job I've had.

I highly doubt I would enjoy it as much now. Sad

I was a settler on Saturdays/nights for an independent bookies(Mick Dines) in the 90's. An enjoyable job back then, just one fruit machine and about 1500 slips on Saturdays. A certain large-chested cashier used to make the days fly by.

Well done Ronnie. Many in the shop watching? Much of a queue for payout? Was it a profitable National for you?
