Wondered what happened to him ,liked him , great partnership with Paisley Park amongst others.Cant remember how he was when interviewed, but not everyone is suited to being a pundit ,it's not as easy as it looks.

thought he was going to say he,d spent at least a million £ on his treatment, £10,000 not even a decent dentist,s  bill

a) see no wrongdoing...

b) see no poor rides...

c) say everyone is a wonderful human being...

d) look at a few RP spotlights a few minutes before each race...

Bit harsh on Coleman he seems a very decent guy to me....Good luck to him.

There is no reason why anyone who has reached the top of their sport should be very good as a pundit. The media are always convinced that the public want to see and hear the stars from the past but many of the best pundits have never even played the sport or if they have it is at a lower level.

had a  summer off to go on a jolly
only rode following summer because there was chatter about his commitment
doesnt like suumer, evening or sunday even racing
didnt like quality of jonjo,s horses
didnt fancy trying for champion jock, would rather just ride few quality horses [ wouldnt they all]
give up cue card ride and a KG winner left venitia  for 6 month feguson tie up ,
like i say add it all together and all just seems a little hard work for him, can i just ride jonbon, paisley every week and ride at chelt and aintree Laugh,
just an opinion ive always had of him when seeing him getting interviewed and today just confirmed it to me, i,m sure he,s a top bloke
what you doing next, ergh not sure hope something comes along, soundslike he could fall alseep on a washing line Laugh
Report acey deucy April 7, 2024 2:46 PM BST
Didn't like the quality of Jonjo's horses?....Slowest bunch of Boats ever gathered under one roof ffs.LaughLaugh.Anybody could see the guy is struggling to come to terms with he is no longer a Jockey.
Report themightymac April 7, 2024 2:47 PM BST
tbf HH, they do criticise jockeys in USA and France because they are highly unlikely to bump into them.

Report themightymac April 7, 2024 2:52 PM BST
Acey, correct me if I`m wrong was it Todd Sloan that developed the Acey Deucy riding technique or was it someone else? I know it was definitely an American jockey but I`m pretty sure it was him. Probably asked you that before.
Report acey deucy April 7, 2024 2:54 PM BST
Yes that is right as far as i know mac.Grin

There's scope for both (Michael Johnson, Troy Aikman, Richie Benaud, Tony Greig, James Hunt, J Mac). All brilliant, could name many more. Being great at the sport doesn't mean they'll be a great pundit tho.

always said it me and my mates have watched 1000,s of football games whilst our other mates were playing every saturday themselves, come boxing/newe yrs day  etc when they had no game they used to come to the  match with us and spout absolute ****,no idea about the game, when your playing your concentrating on your own game NOT THE GAME

True but most people will not respect the view of a tv pundit unless they have had success at the highest level in the sport they are talking about.

don't agree with that at all mac...

Steve mellish ?

i respect his view...

all of this 'they've been at the top level so they talk complete sense' is utter garbage imv...

in fact i think you said as much in your earlier post (which i agree with).

I mean i always thought Jockeys got a Mega payout if they had a career ending injury on the Racecourse maybe i got that wrong.

agreed sageform...

i would change 'the media' for 'the head honchos' tho tbh...

it's the head honchos who employ the pundits.
