Wondered what happened to him ,liked him , great partnership with Paisley Park amongst others.Cant remember how he was when interviewed, but not everyone is suited to being a pundit ,it's not as easy as it looks.

There is no reason why anyone who has reached the top of their sport should be very good as a pundit. The media are always convinced that the public want to see and hear the stars from the past but many of the best pundits have never even played the sport or if they have it is at a lower level.

Acey, correct me if I`m wrong was it Todd Sloan that developed the Acey Deucy riding technique or was it someone else? I know it was definitely an American jockey but I`m pretty sure it was him. Probably asked you that before.

There's scope for both (Michael Johnson, Troy Aikman, Richie Benaud, Tony Greig, James Hunt, J Mac). All brilliant, could name many more. Being great at the sport doesn't mean they'll be a great pundit tho.

all of this 'they've been at the top level so they talk complete sense' is utter garbage imv...
in fact i think you said as much in your earlier post (which i agree with).
themightymac Apr 24 15:04 True but most people will not respect the view of a tv pundit unless they have had success at the highest level in the sport they are talking about.---------------------------------------------------------------------------

i would change 'the media' for 'the head honchos' tho tbh...
it's the head honchos who employ the pundits.
