remaining windy with gusts of up to 45mph. Chance of the odd fast moving shower only bringing 1mm or so. Max temps 13°C |

Definitely recall occasions even in recent years whereby Firm/hard going conditions have been in place.
The prize money on offer today via this premierisation project has held up the field sizes otherwise they would have been decimated. 3.0 on the going stick must be very rare for a flat meeting? |

Hugh Taylor:
"The going stick reading is remarkably low - I’ve seen stick readings of around 5.7 for ground officially described as heavy at Bath on more than one occasion - yet this morning the reading is 3.3, having been 3.0 yesterday." |

Reminds that time of Alistair Down on the Morning Line, I think Eider Chase day, when the going stick was showing about 3.1.
Down quipped: words to the effect of: to put that into context, the going stick for the River Tyne is 2.9 |
