you are spot on R. Mate of mine told me a story of a jockey saying the same thing about a an obviously dead-beat horse to connections post race. Mid-sentence the horse collapsed in the unsaddling enclosure! It was ok after a minute or so mind.

heres an excuse from cathy gannon riding at windsor a few years ago
when asked why she kept to the near side, where the ground was wettest and everyone else went far side she said the horse goes well on soft ground so she kept to it. tremendous stuff |
