Which plonker in these two entities had not envisaged a referral to the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA)? Spreadex and Sporting Index are the only two (duopoly) in this gaming sector; a duopoly morphing into a monopoly is a no-brainer referral to the CMA.

I believe the strategic callousness of the executives of these two betting entities is one of the main reasons why the licensing of the betting/gaming entities/sector ought to be radically reviewed and new policies introduced and enforced.

I remember when there were 5 or 6 all vying for your custom. IG/HILLS/LADDIES/SPORTING/CANTOR/SPREADEX. You were virtually spread free on every market. Now down to a monopoly and impossible margins to play against.
