If you don't bother with in-running ( like me ) why not buy a dodgy firestick for two rooms at £80 a year.
|
|
By:
I have also been paying £18 and its up for renewal in May. I certainly won't be paying more for pictures behind BLV.
|
|
By:
I got £29.98 - discount £9.99=£19.99.

About a year ago, I called them up saying I wanted to cancel it, they offered me 12 months at half price if I stayed (apparently that was what they were offering new customers at the time) so of course I accepted.
Must be nearly time for another phone call ![]() |

By:
Hayden, any chance you could do the same for me?
I have a firestick, but I couldn't find any sources that proved to be reliable. Thanks |

The bookies should pay for every losing punters subscription. Punters already pay for the game and then they have to pay again to watch something they lose money on. The day to day stuff should certainly aired be on a Freeview channel or on a Youtube channel. Putting the game behind a paywall isn't the right way to attract new fans to the sport or increase betting turnover IMO.
Make the game easy to access and lose money on....all of Horse Racing problems solved in one swoop. The BHA won't even need to pay me a huge consultation fee for my advice. ![]() |

*be aired
You could add the option for a premium subscription for those who want the free raceday tickets and access to tips and whatnot on their website and thrown in some other incentive's like a members tipping comp with decent prizes and so on. |
|
By:
Agree with a lot of that WP - i wonder what the average age of their 65,000 subscribers is - i'd set the spread at 58-62.

Once upon a time I couldn't even imagine not having RUK, but playing I/R with LV now ahead of the channel, just don't need it.
|
|
By:
What about only being able to get a small picture instead of full ecreen which you can get with the ATR pictures -even if they freeze and are behind?
|
|
By:
Think that just depends on which browser you use Manoleeds.
You can get full screen with RUK pictures using Firefox and maybe others too. |
|
By:
1/3 of my screen is gruss, 2/3 of my screen LV, 90% of the stuff on gruss I don't need so disable it, for instance, who needs 3 lay and back boxes, get rid of two on either side.
Silks, horse name, one back and lay box each, profit box, level profit box and one custom column..that's it, very little space. |

if you are so granite you begrudge 20 quid a month give it up
and although you dont need it to play i/r its worth it for watching the paddock aided by, eg the m dixon fremantle neesom berry etc. its annoying to back something and then see it misbehaving. its smarter to wait until as late as poss because you dont know what will happen in the minutes before the off and without rtv you will be betting blind. that alone is worth the cost and why would someone deny themselves the facility of playing i/r, even if they dont use it? there was a nag at navan a few weeks ago that went down at 100mph and chucked donohue off several times and was reluctantly lining up and it duly chucked him off before the tape went up. it shouldnt have been a runner but was. i laid it for a good few quid at 1.7 and got paid. any idiot could have done it and i did so why not have the option? seems daft to me. that was unfair on its backers but a goldmine for those watching from home effectively free money and there aint much of that around |
|
By:
er duff. why do you not have 2 or more screens, one for gruss and one for full-screen rtv? (i have 4 and im a cretin)
gruss is the best sick squid youve ever spent so not to utilise it is plain daft. i have 24 prices pre-set on both sides and separate win and place markets and click nothing else unless i use my lialbility option when laying horses than dont start |
|
By:
I do uti;ize it, I have all the information on it that I need and nothing more, and I still think It's the best 5 quid I've ever spent, I could use everything else like you but I'd just be doing it for the sake of it.
One screen for everything does me OK. |
|
By:
6 quid

By:
if it works for you
just dont see how full screens arent better, particularly with big fields |

Mitolo, missing the point as per. You obviously win at the game so you should have no probs stumping up the 30 quid.
But what about those pensioners, students and small stakes punters who make an acceptable loss but bet for the enjoyment and having an interest in a race. I'm sure they be happy to watch a no frills, free service and thus gives them a bit more stake money each month to play with. It's about looking at the bigger picture. Unfortunately, very much like a succession of UK Governments, those who run Horse Racing only think about the here and now. |
|
By:
as per says the conspiracy mug
why should it be free? atr isnt and its sh1te. there is a no-frills free service on the intwerweb now. so what are you on about? watching the paddock and observations of those that are there is worth it for any punter and will reduce losses. how many times have you put on a few wagers early on and then been desperate to bail when you see it bolt to post? i know i have, but at least i can now bail. saves more than rtv costs |
