Can't see a thread on this -apologies if I've missed one. Nick Rockett may hose up leaving everyone wondering why they didn't just back the favourite or blow out leaving backers wondering why they put their money on a horse that had won two beginners chases and come second in a novice chase. For what it's worth with six places on offer from certain bookmakers , I 'm hoping from a return from Minella Cocooner who will have to defy the weight and Where it all Began that Jack Kennedy has picked out of Elliot's runners . Should be a good race and good luck if playing .
Always think this race is a bit of a lottery on heavy ground. Like to pick a lightweight with some fair recent form, have plumped for Mullins We'llhavewan with the apprentice taking 5lb off putting him on 9-10, has a stone pull with Where it all began for 16 lengths at Punchestown, rated a lot higher over hurdles, hoping he'll race prominently and go clear and play catch me if you can.

stewarts, Mullins put up We'llhavewan as a bet yesterday, in a post race interview on RTV. Interesting enough I thought. Interesting also that in the Punches race he was absolutely hammered and looked like he was going to justify the market support and hose up. Was quite keen and made the effort very early, outstayed by the eventual winner but he still beat the rest easily. Of course PT has chosen the fav to ride, so the market reflected that, but he would have struggled to do the weight anyway.

Have they reduced the maximum number of runners for this, or was it just a small field (maybe due to lots of Irish horses targeting Aintree National)...i remember this being a circa 30 runner field not long back?
