A) Betfair calculate total amount matched as Backers Stake + Layers Stake so a £5,000 bet at 4.0 is recorded on Betfair as £10,000 total matched

B) On **** the total amount matched is calculated as Backers Stake x The Odds so a £5,000 bet at 4.0 is recorded on **** as £15,000 total matched

Thank you  guys, I did wonder it has improved there end even if no where near as much here recently.

I *think* on Purple it calculates as backer's stake plus layer's liability so £5k @ 4.0 counts as £20k - but I have not checked for years.

been over there enjoying a % comms promotion for the last few days

same as here (prices are linked, there's fk all difference), same tracking bots, just the same really.

if they weren't the same you could lay there and back here, or vice versa.

the amazing thing is purple haven't actively taken this shower of sh!t (lets be honest that what it is) on.

Doubt theres £108 in the market times I've looked, probably same after PC prices? Never better.

I like the cameraderie of Purple whose prices/liquidity disappears in solidarity when Betfair is down.

Why are purple so slow at settling markets, is it a regular occurrence ? Any time I use the site it seems to take ages to settle the markets.

one of the biggest mysteries in my life is how didnt everywun switch in 2009.

their prices are better then most well known sites(cough cough)all day today .and doing a bigger trade then cough cough today as well.

they are updating a second behind the well known site ,and if the well known site bots a fav ,purple bots the second fav a second later.it seems like a technical way is taking place.

careful brassy.  you start inferring they're messing about with bots in their own markets and the natives will start getting jiggy.  we all know they don't do that.

karnt get matched on daq unless 1 tick bigger offad.

perhaps i used the wrong word,i mean they make the price bigger in the market.
in other words if the fav goes out in price on betfair, the 2nd fav goes out in price on purple a second later.it was happening in most races tonight.and both had a great battle over the football match before it started,to me it looked as it was one company trying to out price the other.maybe it was a coincidence and both companies were fluctuating prices at the same time from different price feed data suppliers.

I must say that their prices are ok generally, and they have a good customer service.

Anyone use Matchbook - seem ok for small stakes

The biggest thing that puts be off purple is their awful web interfaces. They make BF look an awesome website by comparison.

Their website is terrible for sure - but Gruss for Purple is free, no monthly charge. I use it all the time along with BF, and there is opportuinites to win pre and inrunning, nowhere near as much on here but when you win on purple it feels so much better than here as you get to keep the lot - no filthy pc.

Yes, if you can be bothered to use third party software it's fine to use purple - but how stupid is it, that they would rely on you providing the software to get a usable experience.

People moan about this site, but switching between the two there is no comparison - purple looks like it was made by sixth formers.

Not much wrong with their interface imo and if using smallish stakes you can get matched at the same price as on betfair, otherwise you wouldnt use it!

The interface is rubbish I agree.

But my biggest gripe with purple is they suspend a market and not turn it inplay if there is a late non runner. Its obviously to protect the bots (maybe their own) that run off the BF prices before the reduction factors kick in.
Another one is how slow they are to re open markets for photos or stewies.

I like to use purple as much as possible, as I lay market principles then there is generally enough liquidity on those horses. But have betfair open also when it’s beneficial to trade betfair and begrudgingly pay the 40% pc on winnings.  But the fact that super PC is still a thing on betfair is ridiculous

So slow to settle some of the markets still, why does it take so long.
