Thanks Westberks, but the usual questions regarding the T0te playing and seeding into their own pools remain
It would help if you said you don't know the details or even if you do, but are unwilling to share? |

Lousy 100k pools for a holiday week end.

I would explain to the Gambling Commission why it's insider trading, but they are so clueless it would be a waste of time.

Reg, if you are quite happy to pay an extra 5-10p in the £ over to the Tote (that's my estimate) to bet in their placepots, because they are taking advantage of the fact that they know the make up of 20-80% of the bets in the pool, that's fine. But punters should be made aware, and if the regulator's heads weren't so far up their own arse they wouldn't allow it.
They've successfully pulled the wool over the GC's eyes, because quite frankly I don't believe the GC has any mathematically clever people working for it, or at the very least, not the right kind of mathematical brains married with gambling experience. Football Index was a much easier nut to crack and they couldn't crack that. |

Everyone knows how the GN Sweepstake works. Everyone puts their hand in the barrel and draws out a horse. Once that horse is drawn out no one else can pick it. It's a fair game of random chance. If someone picks out 10 horses, he has the same chance as the individuals that pick 1 horse. When the Tote plays the GN Sweepstake (i.e the Placepot), that's the rules they are playing.
But every other punter plays a different set of rules. They play the game where a horse is drawn out of the barrel and then once drawn goes back in the barrel. In the dodgy GN Office Sweepstake, run by Mick The Spiv, he has 13 of the runners running for him, PLUS the 25% take out on top. |

Do you know what happens when the dividends and payouts on the world pool collapse and are lower than if you used an actual bookie?
It becomes a Whirl Pool. |

Clydebank re your 0942 post...
I do the Placepots every day, even though I know the takeouts If I wasn't making it pay I would have stopped doing the bet years ago So, I accept the far too much, imo, takeout for just facilitating the bet What riles me now is that for the last year or so they have been getting away with this seeding nonsense on top of the commission. This almost certainly is affecting the returned dividends, and hence my bottom line So, I am agreeing with you I actually wrote to my local MP but got a standard reply I don't think he understood what I was saying |

It seems like insider trading to me.
