Favourite in the first race at Wetherby. A horse with the same name landed a gamble for Mick Easterby in a two year old maiden at Catterick in 1969, backed from double figures into 6/4. There was carnage in the ring as John Joyce's floormen dashed round taking any price available.

Howard First run was at Ripon down the field then the Catterick gamble. She then won her next six races culminating with the Seaton Delaval at Newcastle. Mick Easterby obviously knew what he had at Catterick. The form book reads 6/4 From 10s. I remember the horse had no jockey listed in the morning paper but it turned out to be Jock Skilling. She did nothing as a three year old.
Ribero1 Yes, it's a long time since I was on here and Goldhill was Goldwyn's sire.
Ronnie Rails You asked me the same question around fifteen years ago about John Joyce's floormen. Yes one was a big lad but he could move.
