groundsman knocked over.

By:
horses going back to the paddock.
By:
Hope they are alright.
By:
Knocked over by a horse or a vehicle?
By:
... getting knocked over by a half ton of horse is horrific. Fingers crossed they are not badly injured. More important than a race.
By:
ATR curse
By:
... I think it was a horse but not sure.
By:
Cutbacks mean there is no contingency to cover a medical event ?
By:
will have to wait for an ambulance to return.
By:
As usual the racing authorities score 0/100 for communication. I recognise us punters/racing fans dont matter to them, but just for once tell us whats going on!
By:
was he wondering around on the course ??
By:
The state of the injured party is obviously of the most importance, but if they are waiting for someone else to arrive surely they should have an idea of how long that will take? What would have happened had the race started and someone was injured? Would they have stopped it? Seems a bit shambolic.
By:
Best to be proactive and abandon immediately, everyone knows where they are then, not hanging around not knowing what's going on.
By:
should surely be seperate anbulances for public/staff/jocks etc, must mean anyone needing ambulance during a race would have to wait, and if a jock gets hurt ,who takes prefference public or jocks ?
By:
What will happen is we will be in limbo for 90 minutes before it then gets abandoned.
By:
It won’t get abandoned.
By:
a busy saturday cant surely be abandoned because of some groundsman
By:
saturday is the best day to make money on here !!!!!!
By:
should have got him a taxi imo
By:
(6 seater)
By:
anyone living within a mile of a racecourse who ever needs an ambulance is better off getting to the track and alerting medical staff, rather than waiting 6 to 8 hrs at home for an ambulance
By:
Lucky it wasnt a heart attack or stroke.
By:
True. Its like its cheaper to go on a permanent cruise rather than go in a private care home !
By:
My reply was to firsttimeposter.
By:
only on atr
wouldnt have happened if it was on rtv |
By:
Has Fitzy given an update or is he too busy trying to find the ice cream van?
By:
Willie Mullins to get the blame
By:
still an indefinite delay.
By:
Olly just said news of the delay when he gets it !! FFS Where are the course Management. ?
By:
fitzy elucidating as we type..isnt giving mutch away tho.
By:
Waiting for an air ambulance. Horses parading with saddles and weightcloths on ! Get on a lightweight !
By:
Hope the injured party is ok, probably hypothermia as well now.
By:
wont leave current patient,so anyone in crowd needs an ambulance /medical help now, your on your fooking own , the coked up pisheads usually kick off about 3 at newbury
By:
Fitzy looks like a vampire has had a go at him
By:
This is all going as expected no fooker doing not much before they realize that it's too dark so everyone has to go home.
By:
The only people who can be blamed are the BHA for making the rules and the racecourse for not having medical cover for the crowd as well as for the jockeys. I suspect that most courses would be in the same boat but surely the chance of a racegoer getting ill on a Saturday afternoon is quite high?
By:
There should be a cut off like in cricket ie if the delay is this long we start cancelling overs and applying DLS (in this races) or if it is so long they call it all off.
People turned up from all over today to be at Newbury and a massive delay like this is going to affect them later on when they’re trying to get home. |
By:
Surely you carry on until 20 minutes before sunset as per the rules. Those spectators on course are free to leave when they wish.
By:
Sounds like Newbury executives are penny pinching. If the race is off and something happens to the spectators
do they have to wait 10 minutes for a medic; providing none of the jockeys are injured. Must be a breach of H & S rules |
