Well done Protektorat! I backed you twice, and you over-raced. No worries, you ran in the correct race. And, the owners? They are so lucky; I understand they lost a good horse recently. And, then bought the most expensive horse ie Caldwell Potter. Well done!

Suffered the sad loss of HH earlier in the week, then Crambo runs a shocker and probably best chance Dysart Enos comes up lame in the morning.

And a fine piece of training to avoid the penalty that the three Irish all had to carry.

So we have found out today, that there are some absolutely top trainers still in Britain if the owners would give them the ammunition.

I mean we knew that anyway, but it certainly gives more food for thought.

Ukraine vs Russia. The Russians realised they are in a war, why and how? The ammo from the West and USA; ammo is the key! Any horse trainer is "professional" impotent if they are deprived of their hardware.

max 1 runner per trainer per race would be the stick should the carrot not work

Report tomo1984 March 14, 2024 5:20 PM GMT
I don't mind two or three to be honest.

But five or six!!  Nah.

And then I look at the National entries and remember that Elliott has 15 in the top 46, Mullins has 12 and Britain combined have 7!!

That might be the straw that breaks the camels back this year?
Report Vubiant March 14, 2024 5:21 PM GMT
Cheltenham now a bloated borefest with nothing handicaps that wouldn't be out of place at Uttoxeter -on top of a slew of odds-on favs in the Championship races. Go back to 3 days ffs and give us a genuine festival of concentrated quality.

In education even the elite establishments have a "reserved" allocation for bright pupils from lesser fortunate families and inner-London state schools, why? Otherwise, horseracing could go the similar way to some well-sought after properties in some parts of England eg the Lake District, Sandbanks, etc where outsiders eg those from London buying them up as 2nd homes to the detriment of the locals.

The people with deep pockets can and will always change the market and dynamic of any entity or commodity and make these more desirable and lesser affordable to the majority.

Horseracing is a sport and a commodity, and is no different, I believe.
