That's what they do with AP markets - up until the day, they set NRs (etc) so your liability is returned (if you look at your open bets, you will see the odds have been set to zero).

You will get your winnings when they settle the market after the race.

Reason - aiui - is the AP market will be void if the race is not run, so even if your horse is dead, it's not a loser in the AP market yet.
