Thanks, this is what I suspected. Henderson is going through one of the worst runs I can remember. Confidence level I guess is very low with his horses.

Hasn't had a runner since 2nd of this month. many if his hooses have pulled up. Just the one intended runner today [3.00 San] and that was withdrawn on Vet's advice [could be anything admittedly]
Yard best avoided at all costs IMO.

Has gone from about 2.2 on betfair this morning to now 3.8 and drifting all the time.....I suspect we'll hear more bad news tomorrow morning. Is news leaking out from the stable that the horse might be pulled?

His owner also owns Salvator Mundi, an unraced over hurdles here but finished 2nd to Sir Gino on the Flat in France.
One left ie Shishkin. Will he stay the course?

To be fair quite a few ‘experts’ had this one marked as the lay of the meeting and were keen to get him at a low price.
But I’m not sure they would’ve gone on the offensive so soon.

More layers for big money for him than backers. One might even be a plant (£43/3) to entice his supporters; post these very little.
I hope he's ok, the market says differently, and usually the market is "correct" given the scums profiting from inside info.

might be one that's ok, you'd have to see how open the yard are about each runner and then judge post race how their view stacks up with the run, as the week goes on you'll know whether to trust them
as well as which horses maybe coming down you also don't for the most part know which horses were sick early and may now be on the way back, so it's a risky stable but if you're getting silly odds then maybe it's worth the risk

some might be clear of whatever it is but gotta be a concern for sir geno backers that he was one of the 3 who worked at kempton very not hard to assume they were in the same horse box !

Sir Gino is now back in to 2.28..!! I took 5.2 last night. I thought in for a penny in for a pound....of course its still got to win but that was a wild exchange ride. After I placed the bet I thought I was a right mug. For once maybe not.

After todays deluge it will be soft, maybe heavy in places on Tuesday. We all know Hendersons horses just don't seem to act on it, maybe it s how they are trained, or just not battle-hardened for muddy conditions. But I'd bet on him not getting a winner if its soft/heavy.

Markets v the media something must be up things happen for a reason will probably more than not run like a drain and we'll get the usual diatribe as soon as he comes on MUTE immediately.

If you tend to buy horses that have a very fluent low action at the gallop, they will probably run best on good ground. Older horses tend to come into their own on heavy. They are more experienced, a bit short of pace but more likely to keep going.

Mullins horses trained on very deep sand, no wonder his don't mind soft or heavy and was getting in a strop with the doubters who didn't want to run the last race last year cos of a patch of wet going.

Been obvious for 3 weeks that they have an issue and the odd horse running well changes nothing. If you put 5 people in a room with heavy colds mixing with 5 others who have not got one, most of the second group will catch it but one or two won't.

With his stable under a huge cloud and many runners withdrawn it's not sensible to run a good horse like Sir Gino. I'd withdraw every runner and come back next month.

You can chalk me up as a naive mug who believed what Henderson said when interviewed.... 'I dont know where these crazy rumours come from , its one of those things they love to throw at you to test your mental agility. Crazy!'
Henderson was clearly lying. Probably so his team/mates could get out of their ante-post bets.

ITV are going to have a sympathy-fest purely for Nicky Henderson, no doubt today.
It's his owners I feel sorry for. Horses wrapped in cotton wool for 11 1/2 months, solely for this week.
Think of all the big Saturday prizes and excitement for them, that is bypassed.

strontium - yes you are right. But that's why I feel like an idiot because he went on to Nick Luck and seemed very sincere. I hope he loses these horses now. He is clearly in decline as a trainer anyway. Win percentage going down, crap stable jockey, and falling way behind Nicholls in prize money. Only a handful of superstars is keeping him going and with those he is clearly managing them badly with over cautious programs.

p.s He stated today that the Sir Gino seems in great condition and nothing appears wrong. Henderson being over cautious again. He is running 5 lesser horses today so I dont want to hear his or ITV's crap about why he is a saint and only cares about their welfare. He'll probably recommend that they retire Constitution Hill in case something happens when he jumps over the hurdles.

So you lot missed the bits in the same interviews you quote (and all that I've seen) that his horses look fine but anyone that knows anything about horses knows that doesn't mean that much (some do some don't show illness better). He also said that even if they looked good if any minor thing was wrong they would not run. In other words do not back until you see them and even then....... You lot do like to cherry pick your quotes, why ignore the facts (anyone backing hendo the last month should be prepare to lose it - ap bets as well) that his horses obv aren't running well and somethings wrong and then lie and infer you only backed his horse cos of what the (known liar to you) says? Grow up and blame yourselves for backing them and for listening to someone you think is a liar.

spyker .... Firstly ante-post bets go back more than three weeks in many cases. That aside I have blamed myself if you bothered to read what I said. I started this thread. ...I don't understand keyboard warriors like you who love to take any opportunity to attack and patronise people. So pathetic.

Yes N-s I was thinking the same, so pathetic the way in which you criticise one of our best trainers and jockeys, what a hypocrite you are!

Driver2 - being critical of certain trainers and jockeys is all part of the debate isn't it? Doesn't everybody on here do it at some point? (I am also very complimentary about many of them as well. My point which you clearly missed was that your mate was using this thread to attacking various posters on here. Why couldn't of he just defended Henderson with a ' I disagree because Saint Nick is beyond reproach and always tells the truth etc etc.... Do you see the difference between debate about horse racing trainers on a horse racing forum or do I need to try again?

Finally, the sense prevails for Hendo. This decision should have been at the same time and reason as Jonbon and Shishkin; his horses ran like drains all last week.

Only a winner on 2nd Apr, but abysmal since Cheltenham. Not really inspiring, is it?
(1) has been entered for sunday; (3) monday and (5) wednesday. I guess it's financially prudent to wait until next week before taking part.
